"Antiques for Fun and Profit"

2:00pm to 5:00pm

Turn your hobby into cash. Learn how to identify fine art, antique furniture, antique silver, antique metals, pottery, glass and jewelry. There is a special section on retail marketing. Diana has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing and is going share her knowledge of proven methods for retailing success.

Learn to research your own items through our Internet lab. Students may bring two items to be valued by the instructor, each session (time permitting). Class meets for 18 weeks.

"Pearls"

Tuesday and Thursdays

Beginning in Feb. 2009 for eight weeks

Gemology 050

This is a fun and informative class with easy identification lessons and LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL PEARLS. This class is part of the SCC gemology program and covers the history of pearls along with identifying and grading different types of pearls. Various grading systems are covered and there will be ample lab time to perfect your grading techniques.

"Antique and Period Jewelry"

Tuesday and Thursday Evenings for eight weeks

Beginning in April, 2009 for 8 weeks

This 48-hour class is is part of the Gemology program at Santiago Canyon College. The course covers periods, styles and manufacturing techniques of the Georgian Period through Moderne.

Lots of handouts, lots of beautiful jewelry and many guided, "hands-on" workshops.

"Appraisal Theory"

Beginning in June, 2009

Tuesday and Thursday Evenings, for eight weeks

This team-taught class with Geoff Nelson and Diana Sanders Cinamon is part of the Gemology program at Santiago Canyon College. Learn how to write professional appraisals for the jewelry industry. Understand different types of appraisals, terminology, how to evaluate and value jewelry and gemstones, and the standards of appraisal organizations.
